About Forvo

Anyone who signs up can record their own voice pronouncing words at Forvo. Kids can use the database of more than a million words in 300 languages to double-check their knowledge of English vocabulary or to hear how a native speaker pronounces an unfamiliar term. The maximum length of a Forvo audio clip is 2.5 seconds, which is reportedly long enough to hear any word. There are also phonetic spellings for some words to aid with listening.
